My Baby Is Already 3 Months!

Now that Ramiel is already three months, she is more active than she used to be before. She responds to me most of the time when she is awake. She is still a good girl always waiting for me to finish what I am doing.  She cries too but she cries when she wants milk or if she wants to be held. She is not fussy nor irritable so I can bring her anywhere especially with the aid of the saya carrier. Woo hoo!

Now that she is already 3 months I have to learn a lot when it comes to how I should take care of her. Since she is awake more now, I want to maximize our bonding moments so what better way to learn how than to refer to babycenter.com.
the article below is taken from babycenter.com:

I know you!

Even though your baby has been able to recognize you since he was just a few days old, he may now be able to show it. About half of babies this age begin to exhibit an obvious recognition of their parents.

Most likely he'll still smile at strangers, especially when they look him straight in the eye and coo or talk to him. But he's beginning to sort out who's who in his life, and he definitely prefers you, your partner, and a select few over others.

Your baby may quiet down and make eye contact with you, or he may search for you in a room and move his arms in excitement or smile when he finds you. He may even find your scent calming and comforting.

A big spurt is happening in your baby's brain development that coincides with significant behavioral changes. Your baby is more attuned to the outside world and more sensitive to changes in his environment.

The part of the brain that governs hand-eye coordination and allows a baby to recognize objects is developing rapidly now. His hearing, language, and smell have also become more receptive and active. When your baby hears your voice these days, he may even look directly at you and start gurgling or trying to talk back.

Early language development

Research shows that babies whose parents speak to them extensively have significantly higher IQs and bigger vocabularies when they get older than other children, so interaction is especially important right now. Set a solid foundation by exposing your baby to a variety of words.

Talk about your surroundings when you take him for a walk, and point to and identify objects as you roam the grocery store aisles. Your baby can't repeat these words yet, but he's storing all the information in his rapidly developing memory.

If your home is bilingual, your baby will benefit from hearing both languages spoken regularly. Don't worry if some of his verbal skills seem to lag a bit at first. He'll not only catch up later, but he may also excel in his general language skills.

Lotto Up To Half A Billion Already

I think that the lotto jackpot is now up to half a billion pesos. Can you believe it?  I can buy gold and all those other things that I want to buy.  If only I will win, then all my dreams will come true. The problem is I haven't staked on my numbers yet. Lol! Did you know that I dreamt of 6 numbers the other night? In the dream I told myself to wake up so I can write it down but the lazy side in me did not want to. I remembered I told myself that I will not forget the numbers shown. Lo and behold as soon as I woke up I do not have an inkling as to what the numbers were. Hahahaa!

Tired

Ok so where have I have been the whole day? Well, we have been out. We only stayed at home after we brought my daughter to school. We waited for her to come back via the school bus so we can go out again. It was my youngest's vaccine schedule so we went to her doctor then we looked around for a gift to give to my sister. After that we went to her to check up on her. Why? It is a secret. Hehehe!

Fyi. We just got home. I.am.tired.

So anyways, my eldest is super tired too because she went straight to bed with her outdoor clothes on.  Hmmm. As for my youngest, she is not affected since she slept most of the day anyways. Hehehehe!  I want to give lots of updates but I am unable to. I am just so doggone tired. So that's it for now because I will be taking my much needed rest especially since tomorrow is another day.

List And Party Supplies

A few days ago my husband asked me to list down all the guests for my daughter's dedication. This includes all the godmothers and godfathers we are thinking of getting. I haven't made it yet because I have been extremely lazy these past few days. My husband asked for the headcount just before he went to bed today and I had to tell him honestly that I haven't made the list yet. He wants to know the headcount so he will be able to determine how much it will all cost and that includes party supplies, food and decorations.  I guess I will have to make and finalize the list tomorrow. I suppose the target date is next month but I am thinking of having it on february just in time for my birthday so we do not have to celebrate twice.  Let us face it.  Parties are fun but they sure are costly.  However everything is worth it when you see the smile on your child's face it.  Parties signify the joyfulness of any event and what better reason to celebrate it than the acceptance of the Lord Jesus in  our lives.

So I am giving myself until tomorrow to finalize the list of the godmothers and the godfathers.  I also have to finalize the guest list so we can already budget how much it is going to cost us.  After the list, I can plan for other things needed such as our party clothes and shoes. Hehehe!

A Peaceful Night

Ok so I think I will be able to sleep tonight.  The thing that will happen tonight will not happen because....... it is not meant to happen tonight but it will definitely happen tomorrow morning by hook or by crook. Hehehe! I will reveal what this is once I am given the go signal to do so.

So I guess it is time for me to say good night! Nighty night! (puros night)

Scary Moment

A few weeks ago something really scary happened. We were scolding our daughter because of her bad behavior which was nothing really but we wanted to correct it as soon as we saw it. So anyways, she got so mad at us that she began to chew this lighted stick that her dad bought for her earlier.  The stick fell apart and green light gooze started to dribble down her chin. I can still remember it as if it happened yesterday.  I was so scared because  I saw that the liquid came from the mouth.  I thought she ingested it.  My husband and I both ran to her and we all rushed to the bathroom to clean her mouth and to see whether she was able to drink some of it. The good news is that she pierced one part of the stick so she did not ingest any of the liquid. The bad news is I think she might be needing therapy when it comes to anger management.  I am not excusing myself because I know that I need it too. There are times when I get really mad that I cannot contain myself. I think she gets it from me.  Anyways, I need to teach her how to channel her anger but I do not know how.  I need some anger resolution therapy just like Houston Anger Management seminar. They offer individual, couples and group therapy so maybe we can all attend. Everybody gets angry anyways.  Thus, everybody needs to learn how to manage the rage felt inside.

Unable To Contain My Happiness

I am so excited and I just can't hide it! Yahoo! yahoo! We have been waiting for this moment and now that it has come upon us I just cannot contain my happiness. I can't say what it is now but I will in a few days or probably weeks depending on how busy we will all become.  Basta I am so happy! It really feels like we have won the lotto or something similar. Hehehe!

    Headache Alert

I have a terrible headache. It must have been because I have colds and I have been taking medicine to suppress it. So now I no longer have colds but I have a migraine, a terrible one. I should not have suppressed it. I should have let my colds run its course. I know that I should be grateful that I only have colds a migraine and not asbestos which is a rare and terrible form of cancer. The thing with this kind of cancer is it can be prevented because it is caused by asbestos fibers.  That is why if you have it, you can contact a specialized lawyer  such as a Houston asbestos lawyer so they can help you out. They know exactly how to deal with the situation and they will be able to give you the attention that you deserve. As for me, I am trying my best to cope with my migraine. Ack!

Tomorrow Is My Daughter's 3rd Month

Tomorrow is a special day for me. It is my daughter's 3rd month.  I guess we will be celebrating it with cake and spaghetti.  Hehehe! Though I think I will no longer get a choco fudge cake just because we have been getting that cake for the past 2 months.  Anyways, there has been a lot of improvement because she can now hold her head for a short period. She is very active and she moves her arms and her legs a lot.  She smiles and interacts with the people around her. She is awake longer but still sleeps most of the time which is fine by me.  Hehehe!

So as early as now I am already planning on what we should be able to give them. I plan to give them the best whatever it takes.  I will not tell them what they want to become but what I can do is support what they want to become in the future. So if they want to become cosmetologists, they can go to a beauty school in Phoenix because it will be able to provide them the right training and skill that they need to become the best in that field. I hope that we will be able to afford it though. Hehehe!

    Friday Fill-Ins

It's a Friday and I have been sleeping the whole day. Why? I do not really know.

    1. Why do bad things happen to good people.

    2. I want to see the world.

    3. Thank you for taking care of me.

    4. Christmas Day is my favorite holiday because I know that I will get to spend it with hubby and the kids.

    5. I am SO sleepy.

    6. We make up our minds to be.

    7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to sleeping early, tomorrow my plans include renewing my domain registration, etc. and Sunday, I want to rest!

    Earrings!

We went to my daughters' doctor yesterday because I had to ask a couple of things regarding taking care of the baby. Secretly I was also planning on letting my baby get her ears pierced. Hubby did not know about the ears piercing thing because he did not want our baby to go through with it yet. Hehehe! He wanted Ramiel to be a little older before she gets her ears pierced. A lot of people advised otherwise so there we were at the doctor's clinic waiting for our turn. I  no longer waited for the next scheduled well-visit baby check-up which is scheduled next week because I (as well as my husband) do not approve of getting hurt or pricked twice in one day. Once is enough so I had to schedule the ear piercing thing on another day. It was a good thing that he did not get mad when he saw her last night. Hehehe! So now when people look at her I hope that she no longer gets mistaken for a boy since she really looks a lot like hubby especially when her eyes are open.  Ramiel cried for a bit but she was okay after so I window shopped for baby nurseries. This is my current obsession now.  I like looking at baby equipments, baby items, etc.  If I have all the money in the world I would buy all the things that I like and I will buy them in all colors. Hehehe!  I think my sister who is about to give birth any day now is the same. She is shopping for their baby and loving every minute of it.

Since hubby called to say that it was getting late and we should be getting home. I had to stop and content myself with looking at unique-baby-gear-ideas.com which is the next best thing.  So I keep on going back to the site because I can't stop looking at all the wonderful baby items on the site. Hay! I love babies and I love baby items.

Anyways, so this is baby ramiel with her pierced ears and hypoallergenic earrings. Hehehe!  This picture was taken early this morning while she was still sleeping.

    Not Too Short

My daughter wanted to sport really short hair for the longest time.  So last Monday,  we went to the salon so she could get a hair cut. What she had was a compromise between really short hair and not-so-short hair since my hubby did not want her to have short-short hair. So now she has shoulder length hair that she loves and we love as well because it makes her look like a baby. Check it out.

The picture was taken yesterday, Tuesday  (November 16), when my husband decided that he wanted our daughter to have fun. So he treated her to a couple of rides and they played lots of arcade games. That was what they did yesterday since it was a non-working holiday.  As for me and the baby, all we did was sat down on a couple of benches because the baby was sleeping. It was fine with me because I saw how happy my daughter was except for the horror ride when she came out crying.  Although, I think she had fun deep inside.

    Happy Birthday Ayeng!

It was my sil's birthday last friday and she is a person you can depend on whatever it is.  She has always been a rock that is hard to contend with. So many people have buckled under her for fear of being lashed out.  She is passionate about things she believes in. You can depend on her telling you what to do even if it hurts.  I think that is the best trait of the people born on the month of November.

My eldest daughter brought her a star pillow. She was really the one who chose her aunt's gift.  I was coaxing my daughter to choose another gift for her even if it meant I was supposed to buy gold but she was adamant about the star pillow and she was right because the birthday celebrant loved it. So anyways, I have to go back to my reading of the Wall Street Journal before I go to sleep. Toodles everyone!

    Cool Weather = Christmas

I love the weather! Christmas is always associated with cool weather so even if we do not have snow, we know that Christmas is near whenever the air gets a little colder. Last year, this was not quite so. It was a little hot so a  lot of people were complaining that they cannot feel the Christmas spirit. In fact, there was in increase in the purchase of Ceiling Fans and airconditioning units.  This year it is going to be quite different because we no longer need the airconditioning unit to make the air a little cooler though we still need the Ceiling Fan for air circulation. Hehe!  We can never do without our fans noh?! It has become a necessity especially in this part of the world.

Personally, even if it is cold we always have our fan turned on for fear of insect bites. Thus, we should buy the best such as Hansen Wholesale Ceiling Fans so we can get the best deal out of our money.  Anyways, if you do not have any ideas when it comes to fans,  Find out who makes the Best Ceiling Fans here!

    Happy Birthday Nicole!

Well, it was Nicole's birthday yesterday. Nicole is one of hubby's niece and my godchild.  We were not supposed to come to her birthday because of the following reasons:
    1. It was a school day.
    2. It is exam week.
    3. I cannot lug along 2 kids plus a diaper bag especially since it is a long walk from the parking spot to where they live.
    4. The weather was so erratic yesterday. One minute it was sunny, the next minute it was raining.
    5. Hubby was still at work and he preferred it if we stayed at home. He knew it was going to be difficult for me to go there.

It would have been preferable if the celebration was done on a weekend.  But they preferred to celebrate it on the day itself. I do not blame them.  I prefer to celebrate birthdays on the day itself too.  So anyways, my sil called me to ask if we will come. The day before that (Sunday) my hubby already talked to my mil and Nicole that we will not be able to attend so I thought that was the end of it. SO I was surprised that Nicole was kind of mad that we were not there.  To cut the long story short, we went there with hubby although we were a wee bit late plus we were not able to buy her gift but we all had fun with Tito Ed's magic tricks, our truth and dare game and the stories we told each other. We were also full from all the food the mom of Nicole prepared.. Sarap!  Sayang lang because we were not there for the cake blowing. Hehe! I was not able to take any pictures because I was holding Ramiel with my Saya wrap most of the time.

Anyways, Happy Birthday Nicole! I think Ramiel takes after you with your small face and delicate features. :D

    My Bio-Magnetic Tungsten Bracelet

I have already blogged about the tungsten bracelet that my husband gave me about a month ago right?  Just to give a recap and a feedback about it, the tungsten bracelet that my husband gave me really works. I am no longer stressed out.Well,  not as much.  Though, I can recall a couple of times when I am still a little bit overwhelmed but I no longer let it get to me.The technique is (aside from wearing the bracelet) to find joy in whatever it is that you do. In the course of my 2nd somewhat difficult pregnancy to giving birth to taking care of my baby and having baby blues, I somehow have taken for granted or may have forgotten that this is what I want to do ever since I was little. I want to be the one to take care of my kids. Never did I see myself giving this responsibility to somebody else such as a yaya or a nanny.  Thus, I  was extremely disappointed at myself and asked the question, " what happened to me?", over and over again.  There were some realizations and you might be surprised what they were.   So anyways he no longer hears me complain. I can say that  my disposition has improved ever since I have worn it.  I have balance and peace of mind.

Just to show you what kind of bracelet he gave me, check this out.

So I am extremely grateful for this and we have actually ordered 2 more for my parents. I hope the other one would arrive just in time for my dad's birthday which is tomorrow. If the bracelets are not available, I am sure my parents would also love to have tungsten rings.   I better call hubby to ask or else I would have to go to the mall to buy him something else.

    They're Baaack!

My sister and her family came back from their semestral break trip from Korea.  I loved looking at their pictures.  You guys should see my niece J.  She is oh so p.r.e.t.t.y.  Based on the stories that my sister and her hubby told us, people kept looking at her. She will really stand-out there with her big eyes and her curly hair. Unlike my daughters because they look like koreans or chinese because of their chinky eyes. I also love the chocolates and these delicacies that they brought us.  Though, I loved the former rather than the latter. I also really like the mousy thingy that they gave us.   I think I got the one that had the puffiest skirt. My daughter kept asking me if she can have it.  Hehehe!

    3 Birthdays For This Week

For this week alone, we will be celebrating 3 birthdays.  Tomorrow is the birthday of my hubby's niece and my godchild, Nicole. She will be turning 8 ( I think). Hehehe!  On Wednesday, is my father's birthday. I think he will be turning 63. I am not really sure. On Friday is my sister-in-law's birthday who is also a pastor. I do not really know how old she is.  Though I think she will appreciate that I am not posting how old she is.  Amongst these 3 birthday celebrants, I wasn't able to buy even one gift for any of them.  If I win the lotto today, you can mark my words, I will buy each of them a bullion. Not a chicken bullion that you use for cooking but a gold or a silver one. Hehehe!  Though my dad will be receiving more than one just because he is my dad. :D

So happy birthday to Nicole, Ayeng and most especially to my dad whom I love so much!

UT 1 For The 3rd Quarter

So this week is going to be another exam week.  It is time for the Unit Test 1 for the 3rd Quarter.  Time really flies by so fast noh? Soon, it will be all over and my daughter will be in grade 1.

Anyways, this is the schedule of my daughter's exams for the week.

November 9 (Tuesday) - Reading and Math (regular schedule)
    November 10 ( Wednesday) - Language (half-day schedule)
    November 11 (Thursday) - Filipino (half-day schedule)

So I cannot promise that we can be at Nicole's birthday celebration tomorrow. She needs to sleep early and wake up early because of her exams. Plus I no longer like  to go out without hubby at night especially with the baby and I do not like to leave her behind.

My Baby At 2 Months and 3 Weeks

I am super tired but I am grateful that my arm no longer hurts.  So after I do this blogpost I can take care of my baby all night long. I was also extremely grateful that Ramiel was not fussy last night. She let me sleep and nurse my aching arm all night long. As in she did not bother me at all. Yey!

So I just got this update from babycenter.com... My baby at 2 months and 3 weeks.

    Smooth operator

He's no Fred Astaire yet, but your little one's movements are getting a bit more coordinated. You'll notice that the jerky arm and leg movements of his newborn days have given way to smoother, more circular motions, especially when he's watching people.

Give your baby enough space to stretch and move his arms and legs. Lay a blanket on the floor and let him move as he pleases. These movements can help your baby strengthen and tone his developing muscles. On his tummy, he'll start to push off with his legs — the first step in getting on the move.

    Sound sleep advice

Whether you envision your little one sleeping independently in a crib at an early age or sharing a family bed in the coming years, a soothing and predictable bedtime routine will help your child nod off and get the rest he needs. And it's not too early to start.

Your routine can include rocking, singing, a bath, a bedtime story, cuddling with a transitional object (such as a soft blanket or stuffed animal), being carried around the house and saying goodnight to each room — whatever makes sense for your family. The ritual will evolve as your child gets older.

    "Hello, my name is..."

At this age, your baby should be open to making friends with babies and adults alike. You may notice that he smiles when he sees anyone come in the room or holds out his arms when someone wants to hold him.

Now's a good time to introduce your baby to sitters or other people who might be looking after him later on. Have potential caregivers come over and spend time with you and your baby. Later on, he may be consumed by stranger anxiety, making a simple introduction seem impossible.

Do remember that babies have different temperaments and some are less open to new people than others. If your baby doesn't welcome someone new with open arms, be patient, hold him close, and reintroduce him. It may just take some time. Familiar surroundings will help introductions go more smoothly.

    Why Things Happen

I have always believed that things always happen for a reason. We may not understand it right now but we will eventually when the right time comes along.  For example, I am not really familiar with Accutane lawsuit yesterday but I am now. This blog post may have a purpose in itself especially for people who have gotten defective hip replacements but do not know it yet.  If you have gotten one from DePuy Orthopedics and you are experiencing severe pain and swelling, you might need to get a 2nd hip replacement.   There are over ninety-three thousand Depuy hip recalls on record now.  This is a possibility so you better know now that you should have it checked. You do not have to live with your pain.

So if you are one of them or you are about to get a 2nd hip replacement surgery or if you are experiencing pain and swelling because of a possible defective hip implant that you have gotten from DePuy Orthopedics, well it is about time that you contact O’Hanlon, McCollom & Demerath – Personal Injury Lawyers – 808 West Avenue, Austin, TX. 78701 – 512-494-9949.

    Happy Birthday My Friend!

Today is a day of celebration because my friend is celebrating her birthday today. She is one of my good friends. We go way back in high school.  She opened my eyes among a lot of things. She did it subtly with romance novels. hehehe!  She is so friendly. She does not run out of things to say. You can bring her anywhere and she will blend in and stand-out at the same time. Blend-in because she can talk to anybody whatever their status in life is. Stand-out because of her looks with her white, milky skin and luscious brown hair. Heheh!  I loved her mom too who also became a mom to us when we were growing up.  Like her daughter, her mom was so cool. In fact, I believe that the reason why my friend R is like that is because of her mom.  I hope that her daughter V will take after her too.

So anyways, happy birthday Dra. Rhee! I hope thatthe Lord will grant the wishes of your heart.

Back when we were in 2nd year college, we already went to different universities but had a sleep-over at R's place for some major chikahan.

New York, Concrete Jungle Where Dreams Are Made Of...

I would like to give a congratulatory shout-out to my cousin D because she is 6 (7) weeks pregnant.  Congrats D! And another congratulatory shout-out to her older brother and also my cousin D because he got himself a job at NYC. So congrats D! I do not know if the job entails nyc web design  or if has to make a website design case study because his specialty is in designs after all. Well, fashion design that is.  His work was already featured during the MB fashion show 2 years ago. We were all giddy with happiness during that time and so we are all giddy with happiness now.. times two! Anyways, my aunt and uncle must be very proud of the 2 them.  Imagine getting news like these in just one week! They must be in a celebratory mood now.

I know how big a deal it is to get a job at NYC.  They do not fall on trees after all.  But if you have the right skills, you won't have any problem landing a job. With skills, a little bit of luck and a lot of prayers, I believe you will make it in New York!  Just check out ecommerce partners ny.

Sing it with me.. "New Yoooooork! Concrete Jungle where dreams are made of..."

My Baby At 2 Months and 2 Weeks

    Again, from babycenter.com...

If your baby is sleeping through the night (five or six hours at a stretch), you're one of the lucky few. Most 10-week-old babies still wake up in the wee hours. But even babies who aren't sleeping through the night at this stage should be sleeping and staying awake for longer intervals rather than cycling back and forth so much. Your baby will probably have two to four long sleep periods and as many as ten hours of awake time in 24 hours.

An interesting note: Whether your baby is a night owl or a morning lark, a long sleeper or short sleeper, that pattern will probably stay the same throughout childhood.

It is interesting to note though that one of the things that I am worried about is her reflux.. so I am one happy mom that the update that I received gave me a little information about it.

    What is reflux?
Reflux is when food and acid move from the stomach back into the esophagus. It's normal for all babies to have some reflux — they'll spit up or regurgitate a little milk after some feedings. It's estimated that up to 50 percent of babies spit up daily. Most of these episodes are brief and don't cause symptoms. However, if your baby is burping up large amounts of milk throughout the day or vomiting more than a few times a day, it could be a problem called gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). Reflux may be associated with prolonged crankiness and pain with eating. In severe cases, babies with GERD gag, cough, or don't gain enough weight. Make sure to mention any reflux symptoms to your baby's doctor.

    What causes reflux?
The main problem is a weak esophageal sphincter — the muscular valve that connects the throat to the stomach. Most babies are born with a relatively relaxed lower esophageal sphincter. Because of this looseness, food doesn't stay in the stomach where it belongs. Swallowing too much air and overfeeding can also contribute to reflux.

    How is reflux treated?
In most cases, babies grow out of the problem by their first birthday, as their sphincter muscles strengthen. If your baby is being fed formula, her doctor may suggest switching to a soy-based or hypoallergenic formula. You may be advised to try smaller and more frequent feedings to keep your baby's stomach from filling too much or too often. Some studies suggest that adding baby rice cereal to breast milk or formula to thicken it may improve some reflux symptoms. Holding your baby in a semivertical position during and after feedings, with her head elevated about 30 degrees, may help keep the milk from coming back up. Even frequent burping can reduce reflux symptoms. The doctor might prescribe an antacid or acid-blocking medication for your baby to take daily, similar to the medicine adults take for heartburn (but don't give your baby any medications without a doctor's order). She may also suggest further evaluation of your baby's symptoms with a pH probe, which is inserted into the esophagus to measure reflux episodes and acid levels. Other ways to evaluate reflux include X-rays of the gastrointestinal tract and endoscopy, in which a tube with a camera is placed in the baby's upper GI tract to view and biopsy the area.

Hoping We Could Afford A Carribean Resort Hotel Next Year For Some RnR

I guess we are the only ones who did not get to travel this Halloween. With my mom and my siblings abroad I guess I will have to take over the responsibility of looking after the house. My sister is sharing this responsibility with me but she went to her in-laws to visit her mil who was sick but is okay now. So she kind of traveled (to the province) though she and her son were able to get out of the country to be with her hubby a month ago.  I guess her trip to her in-laws was very timely since she met one of our cousins whose child is sick due to dehydration. My sil and her family is also on a business/pleasure weekend planning meeting now and will be back on Tuesday or Wednesday.

So guess what? Next year it will be our turn. It will be perfect since my baby will be older and hopefully will be able to travel (even if it will be within the country) though I am hoping that we get to travel outside the country such as the carribeans.  Thus, I am already checking out how much a caribbean resort hotel costs so I can get to save up for it. Of course, before I plan I need to check with my financier if he likes any of the caribbean hotels included at www.breezes.com.  He hehehe! After all, he has to approve it first before I can even begin to plan for it or else it will all be for nothing.  If ever, I suppose we would have to avail an all inclusive carribean package tour since I do not know anybody who can tour as around and I do not want to get lost or anything like that. With 2 kids, that would be terrible.
