Just Not Right

The week is not starting right.  I do not like it when I do not have a great Monday.. it just sets the mood for the entire week.  Hay!  The thing that is pissing me off right now is I have noticed that I lost a couple of my clothes.  I have not been documenting them because I am too lazy to do so and now that they have not returned yet from the laundry and the one who does them is AWOL.  I do not know if she will be back.  I already asked for them last week and she said that she has not gotten around to ironing them yet. But if I need them, she will get right to it.  Since I have no plans of wearing them yet, I just asked for them because I want to check if she has them. 

So some of my clothes  that have been in the laundry for 2 weeks now (and counting) have not yet returned. I already checked the sampayan and the pending clothes that are for ironing and the pieces that I am looking for are not there.  These are just my clothes. I haven't checked my daughter's clothes yet. I am OC this way but I haven't been for quite some time now.  I do not know why I suddenly had the urge to check these pieces.  Besides, you should not lose things in your own home. 

Bad trip! Now, my schedule for this morning is in disarray. I was supposed to do a couple of articles for my Aussie boss, articles that I left pending last week and I haven't gotten around to doing them yet because I have been digging in my clothes cabinet to see whether the clothes that I am looking for are stuck somewhere at the back of my clothes cabinet.   Wala!

As usual, I had another busy day today..hay! Taking care of my daughter is really a full time job especially when she has the colds. Since it has been a long time since she had one, she is having difficulty handling it.

What We Do While We Wait

Unlike other people, I like going to the hospital. I remember when I was a kid my mom does not want any of us to go to the hospital. It may be because of the trauma that she had when she was little or it was maybe because of the viruses and diseases that we can catch when we go there. It was not really explained why. But I sort of understand why. Now, since I do not have any yaya for my daughter nor do I have any plans of hiring one, I take her anywhere with me and that includes the hospital. My daughter and I like going to the hospital and check-out medical scrubs and uniforms. We always observe, discuss and pick which we like best. My daughter almost always chooses pink nursing uniforms. I take into consideration the entire get-up and include nurses shoes in my assessment. Hehhehe! The doctors and the nurses do not have any idea when we look at them. They do not know that they were being graded on how their uniforms look (including their shoes) and how they are able to carry them. I think some of them are from Scrubs and Beyond because I see some of the designs and the cut of the scrubs being worn at some of the medical staff at the hospital. Suffice to say that they always get my vote.

2-Week Interval

I was supposed to go to the doctor today for my every 2 weeks check-up but the doctor is on leave the whole week. She will be back on Saturday but we already have prior engagements on that day so we will not be able to squeeze the doctor's check-up.  Sayang! I really want to. Oh well.  Thus, my check-up is rescheduled next Tuesday instead of today.

So can you feel it? The end is almost near! I am so excited! When the doctor tells you that the check-up will be on a 2-week interval, it just means that you are about to give birth and she will be closely monitoring you and the baby's progress. Yey!

Personalized And Customized Imprints

Just recently, actually before school started, I looked for promotional key chain to attach to my daughter's bags.  This will make her school bag stand out from the rest because their bags are all the same.  At the very least, I would want my daughter who is 5 years old to know which bag is hers.  Good thing I was able to find one that makes personalized key chains, imprinted mugs and even calendars. Actually, since I no longer had time, I ordered from the first shop that I saw who does that. If only I had the time, I would have gotten from imprinted.com since they offer any imprinted promotional product. Oh well, I can still use them for many occasions such as my daughter's 6th birthday which is less than a month away. I just have to wait for the reply of the teacher if we can bring cake, cupcakes and a souvenir such as a plastic imprinted promotional piggy bank that I saw from the said site.  I got a circular from the school (actually all of the parents) that said birthday parties and loot bags are not allowed.  Well, she will just bring cupcakes and cake so it is not considered a party right?  My daughter told me that her teacher will get back to her on that one.

Happy Father's Day

Happy Father's Day to all fathers out there. We did not really get to spend it with my hubby because he had to go the office because of some problems that kept him up all night.  Good thing we were able to celebrate it two weeks ago. I mistakenly thought that it was father's day two Sundays ago. See... things do happen for a reason. Hehehe!

So anyways even if we did not get to spend it with hubby, my sisters and I planned to treat our hubbies and dad to lunch (and the rest of the family who are available) at Katips today as a way of thanking them for being the best dads and supportive husbands in the whole wide world. We pushed through with it even if we were not complete (missing hubby, missing brother JR, missing sister Jula and hubby Kiko, etc.) Sayang talaga na hubby was not there.

Up At 6 AM On A Saturday

The problem with having a child who does not have any problem waking up at 6 am during the weekdays is she also wakes up at 6 am during the weekend. School Year 2010-2011

School has started for some already. But for my daughter, her classes will start next Tuesday. We are actually looking forward to it. I think more than our daughter because we were able to attend the parent's orientation seminar last weekend and we heard all the plans that they have for the kids. I know that our daughter will have so much fun going to that school especially when it comes to its art program. You would not believe the art lesson plans that they have for the entire year. It includes ceramic art education and classroom ceramics among others. I love it! Actually, my husband loves it more. Hehehe! Although, I would have to check on whether it is from AMACO. The Brent supplies and products that come from AMACO are the safest so far. I know that the school makes use of safe and earth friendly materials but as a mom I have to make sure.

I also love the discipline, the values that they are going to instill in my daughter and not to mention the social awareness that we all need (not just them). I love everything about it actually and I hope that she will love it also.

A Kind Soul

I was so embarrassed yesterday at the bank. I was out of sorts yesterday and when somebody greeted me, all my things fell to the floor even the money that I just withdrew.  I was like that the whole morning yesterday, I was careless and seem to drop most of the things  that I had my hands on and my daughter kept on picking them up. So anyways, the money went straight underneath the table of the teller and if you haven't noticed before how small the space is between the table and the floor, I will tell you that it is only around 1-2 cm.   So you cannot just grab the things that seem to be sucked straight underneath the table.  The money that I withdrew will be used to pay my credit card bill.  So anyways,  I am so thankful that the guy who greeted me was kind enough to go down on all fours and try to get the money from underneath the table with the use of the ruler.  At first, he was trying to see where it was, so his face was literally on the floor.  Que Horror! How embarrassing!  I think he took pity on me because I was pregnant. Anyways, I am just thankful that it was him because he was so helpful.  He was just about to go to the office when he decided to go to the bank to transfer or get money, so he was wearing his office attire, his hair was made up and I know that there are people who do not want to get dirty or get their hair messed up before they get to the office.So I was really grateful.. I mean the trouble that he went through just to get the money. Super kind talaga.

Money is fleeting.  It always surprises me how it seems to disintegrate right before my very eyes.  I swear I withdrew money yesterday and to my surprise I only have around 1,000 pesos today.  I am not saying that somebody stole it. I am just saying that everything is so expensive that you do not realize that it is already gone!  This is the reason why everybody needs to be conscious when it comes to money matters. Taking Care Of The Skin

We never really had any problem when it comes to our skin.  People say that we have good genes when it comes to the skin. It is probably because of our Chinese heritage.  You should see my mom she really has clear skin. She loves it when people tell her she does not look her age. Although, I think she takes anti aging and antioxidant products.  I have been hearing a lot about these two and they say that one is never too young to take them.  So women as young as 20 years old can take them to slow down the aging process.  Actually, I have been reading a lot about it from http://www.oxis.com. The reason why this is so, is because of the fact that ever since I was a teenager I have always admired people who have great skin. The skin is actually the first thing that I notice in a person. Just got back from my daughter's school.  It was her first day today and I was so happy to find out that my daughter's gymnastics classmate will be her classmate for the entire school year. You all know how we have already bought my husband a gift for Father's Day right? Actually, I have been saving up for a really nice gift, one that shows how much he means to us. It's Time

Well, the truth is I am thinking of moving for several months now. I know the timing is not perfect with the baby coming and all but if we do not move now, we might never move at all. Something always gets in the way with our plans to move, in this case, my pregnancy. Hehehhe! Since my husband is working I am the one who is assigned to look for apartments but since I am pregnant I am just too lazy to do so. In fact, the truth is I do not know where to start. Searching for the right home to transfer to is hard. You have to think of the location, the neighbors, the parking space, etc. I wish we have something like Promove. It is a free apartment locating service. All of us who are looking for homes right now (not just me) will not find it hard to look for one. Plus, it makes everything easier because it will be able to to match the right apartment depending on what we want and what our conditions are.  And we will be able to compare and contrast various apartments so we will be able to get the best one for us and our family.

In my desire to move, I tested out the site and I was able to search for different Atlanta Apartments and I compared it with Marietta Apartments and Buckhead Apartments. How I wish we live in these areas just because of the site. How lucky are the people who live in these areas, they will not have a hard time looking for an apartment that they can live in. Diner Dash 5: Cooking Dash 2 DinerTown Studios

Ever since I started playing my computer games, I just could not stop.  So after kitchen brigade and sally's quick clips, I played with Diner Dash 5.  In fact, I only started playing with this last night and I was able to finish this around an hour ago.  Can I just say that I am sad that I finished it already? Huhuhu! I am so addicted with diner dash games that I feel sad whenever I finish one of them. 

If you are like me and you like these time management games, you should try it. I better warn you though, you may not want to stop once you have started. That's what happened to me that's why I was able to finish it after a few hours (considering that I was out the whole day). Hehehe!  This is the best diner dash game so far.

Many Changes This Year

School is about to start. In fact, we only have one weekend left before school starts and I am making the most out of the time left by spending each and every waking moment with my daughter.  There will be so many changes this year and unlike the previous years, this year is different because another one is coming along and so I know that my daughter will feel the change once her sister is here. Right now I am already explaining to her how her sister will need me more because she is so little and she cannot fend for herself still and that it is our responsibility to take care of her.  I hope that my daughter understands and will not take it against us if some of our attention shifts to her baby sister. 

Aside from her baby sister, she might find it hard to adjust to her new school.  Of course, I will still be here to support her all the way especially when it comes to her education.  From the time that she started schooling until the time that she graduates from college (or even after especially when she wants to take up her masterals) I will be here to support her.   I will even help her research college degrees if she is confused as to what course to take when the time comes.    That is why I right now I am already bookmarking the site collegedegreestoday.com for reference in the future. At least I will be able to help out a couple of my nieces and nephews who are already in high school by telling them about this site.  The future is just too important not to prepare for it.

Still A Couple Of Weeks Away

Hello! It is a brand new week and I hope that this week is not as crazy as last week.  Hehehe! Did you know that I thought yesterday was Father's Day? Last friday, even if we were tired already we went to two malls to look for the perfect Father's Day Gift for him. That was the reason why went home so late. We did not succeed and we continued to look for "that one perfect gift" last Saturday.  Since we were with him, he was the one who chose it. It was a good thing too because we know for sure that he liked it. Hehehe! Although, there's no more element of surprise. In fact,  I was the one surprised to find out father's day is not yesterday but a couple of weeks away.

To console ourselves (cheska and myself), at least,  we were able to make him happy. Hehehehe!

My Mom's Spine

There was a time when my mom had a hard time walking. If you knew my mom then, you will see that there was disalignment of the spine. She used to drive us to and from school when we were kids and she used to wait until dismissal time. This went on for many years and I do not know if it was because of this, because something happened to her spinal cord. To make the long story short, her doctor wanted her to undergo through surgery but she did not want to because of her experience with doctors when she was little but that is another story altogether. So anyways, the doctor said that she will not be able to walk after a couple of months. Thus, my dad made a couple of renovations in the home so she would not have to use the stairs. She had therapy for a couple of months. I remember she wanted me to take up physical therapist at that time so I would be able to take care of her.

Thinking about it now, maybe she should have gone to Des Moines chiropractor. Although,she has completely healed and could walk now, there was a time when she went through considerable pain. Maybe if she went to Des Moines Chiropractic, then she would not have felt pain at all. Now, she is very careful when it comes to carrying heavy objects or driving. She still drives occasionally when there is a need for it. I just hope that it does not come back, if it does I will gladly accompany her to a Chiropractor in Des Moines. They have provided professional and personal care since 1997.

Last Practice For Tomorrow's Culminating Activity

Today is the most tiring day this week.  My daughter and I got back at around 8 pm  and I still have to prepare all the things that she will need tomorrow.  As what I have been saying all week long, my husband and I  will not be here tomorrow morning and will come back just in time to get my daughter and bring her to gymnastics class. Actually, tomorrow is the culminating activity and they prepared a special number for all of those that will watch. Personally, I am excited to watch all of them. They really worked hard for it.

Seriously Considering

We need to save up especially if we will be serious when it comes to our daughter's gymnastics training.  We also need to think of great ways to invest our money so we will have passive income.  This income will be the very thing that will sustain the training of our daughter. Our savings and our active income do not have to be affected. Yeah, you could say that I learned a little bit from one of these money-making books that I was fortunate enough to read.  This is also the reason why I know that it is a good idea to buy gold bullion.  The site, us gold bureau, says that today is the best time to buy them.   I believe them because they are committed to being America's best dealer when it comes to precious metal prices.

Sally's Quick Clips

Even with my schedule, I still take the time to play one of my downloaded games. The last game that I finished and erased from my hard drive is Sally's Quick Clips.  If you like Sally Salon, you will definitely like this one. Although, there is a little twist to playing it.  You have to form a pattern first and earn points before you can get to cut, shampoo, color hair, put accessories, etc.  So it makes it all the more exciting.   I think I was able to finish this within 3 days. Although, it would have been less if I had more time to play with it. Hehehe!

Keeping Myself Productive

I am already foreseeing months of staying at home once I give birth especially if my doctor will not give me a go-signal to drive once I give birth. I need a hobby to occupy my time while I stay at home. I know my time will be occupied with taking care of my baby girl but I need something, even if it's just going to be a little time each day (or every other day), for me too. I need my "ME" time, a productive "ME" time to keep me sane. Plus I know by having something to do other than taking care of the baby will ward off my post-partum blues because I will be busy. That is why I have been checking out clay art and I have already scouted for ceramic pottery kilns.

Actually, if I run out of supplies, I do not have to go out because I can order online at AMACO/Brent so I can become the artist (a home artist) that I have always wanted to be. So be prepared to receive clay art dinnerwares and clay art plates for Christmas especially if I am successful with this new venture in my life. 

Crazy Schedule

Just like everyday of this week, I am in and out of the house so forgive me if I do not respond to any of the e-mails, twitter messages, fb messages, etc.  I will get to it as soon as I can. It also does not help that something is definitely wrong with my yahoo mail.  I will try to fix everything as soon as I have the time. It's probably because of my settings. I do not really know.  Right now, I am taking a short break. Actually, we just got back and we will be leaving again after a couple of minutes.  Tomorrow is going to be the same. Although, I hope we can spend a couple of hours in the mall after my daughter's gymnastics class.  They are preparing for their culminating activity on Saturday. Thus, the reason why they are having lessons almost everyday this week.

The good news is classes will not start on the 7th.  It will start on the 15th instead. So yey! I will have time to rest next week.. I hope!

Summer Will Never End

It would seem to me that I am not the only one having air con problems. A number of my friends have complained to me the very same thing that I am complaining about. How I wish that we are near the area where Jay and his comfort team are. They are the best when it comes to aircon repairs. In fact, I think they are the number one when it comes to providing arizona air conditioning service. Maybe if we have a team like that here, we do not have to replace our air con units every so often. That says a lot about a company you know. It means that people (homeowners and business owners alike) trust them and they do their jobs right.

Living in a tropical country sucks when you do not have the right air conditioning unit especially during summer days and nights. There are days (and nights) when it is bearable but most of the time it can be quite uncomfortable. Let me repeat it again.. I just wish we have what arizona air conditioning has and that is Jay and his team of experts when it comes to AC repair. The truth is we just do not need arizona ac during the summer but we need it all year round. I hope that they will be able to expand and extend their services to this part of the world or is it too much to hope for?

Wednesday Wickedness: Phil Jackson

Today we picked Phil Jackson. Here's Wednesday Wickedness!

1. "Always keep an open mind and a compassionate heart.” Do you ALWAYS keep an open mind? There are some issues that I keep an open mind on.

2. “Wisdom is always an overmatch for strength.” Who is the wisest person you know? Who is the strongest?  I guess the wisest person and the strongest person that I personally know is my dad.

3. "Yes, victory is sweet, but it doesn't necessarily make life any easier the next season or even the next day." Do you think a successful day at your job makes the next day better or not?  Nope. That's why we should always strive to be better each day.

4. "...True joy comes from being fully present in each and every moment, not just when things are going your way." How would we tell by your behavior if you are having a bad day? Do not worry about that because if I am having a bad day, you will definitely see it.

5. "I gave it my body and mind, but I have kept my soul." Do you have days when you feel you gave it your all, but may have compromised your values?  Nope.. not yet anyways.

6. "Your problems never cease. They just change." What do you feel is your biggest problem at the moment?  The biggest problem that I have right now is the schedule on Saturday.

7. "My dad always had this little sign on his desk: "The bigger your head is, the easier your shoes are to fill." He really drilled that in." Does your ego sometimes get in your way?  Sometimes I guess

Do you believe you could teach someone, like your child, to be competitive?  I do not really know.  Somehow competitiveness comes from within.  However,  if you teach your child to do her best at every occasion that calls for it.. competitiveness follows suit?

10. "Home is where the heart is, right?” Obviously Phil didn't originate this quote. He said it when asked if he'd retire after this season. Do you believe home is not a place but rather a state of mind?  Definitely.. home is a state of mind.  You can be anywhere with your family and feel right at home or you can be at home but your family is not there... thus, you do not feel at home.

Inspired By Scrubs

My daughter already expresses the desire to become a doctor once she grows old. Hearing that makes us so happy. Although, I know that she will still change her mind every so often. Maybe it is the fact that my husband works closely with doctors and nurses that inspires her to become one. She wants to work where her daddy works. You see my husband works at one of the popular hospitals in the metro. He is not a doctor. Although my daughter thinks that he is, to be a little more specific, he is in Information Technology you see. So whenever I have doctor's check-up or whenever we come to visit my hubby at his place of work, we always see people in nursing scrubs. Of course we see them in all shapes and sizes. I wonder if they order their scrubs from Scrubs and Beyond.

Sometimes we get to eat lunch with them too. So I see nurses and doctors wearing petite scrubs and tall scrubs. My husband said that the color of the scrubs depend on the type of job that you have. So the blue scrubs are for surgeons and the purple ones are for medical technicians, etc. Although, I noticed that the clinic of the doctor of my daughter wear more fashionable scrubs. Maybe because they deal with kids so they wear more colorful and cute ones.

Kitchen Brigade

I haven't played any computer games for quite some time now but then I stumbled upon the game Kitchen Brigade and I was so hooked. In fact, I was hooked for a couple of days last week that nobody was able to disturb me.  Hehhehe!  I finished the all the levels of the entire thing after 2 days (that's all the levels of the story game and all the levels of the master chef game but I still would not stop and kept on playing the challenges.

Office Uniforms

I used to detest wearing a uniform. I wore a uniform all my life from kindergarten all the way to college and even during my corporate years when I worked as a Human Resource employee. Although, the latter part of my career I was no longer required to wear the prescribed uniform polo and skirt because I was already a manager and managers were allowed to wear any corporate attire that they wanted provided that they were within the company's rules and regulations when it comes to civilian clothes.

Now I no longer wear any kind of uniform because I am a stay-at-home mom but being one isn't stopping me from scouring what's the latest when it comes to business uniforms especially since a friend who owns a business has asked me to look into the latest when it comes to uniforms. She wants something that looks like hotel uniforms and I told her that she should look at the products and the uniforms by Landau. I have spent the whole afternoon looking for suppliers and they are the best that I have seen. In fact, they can supply all kinds of uniforms for all kinds of businesses. So she would not go wrong with Landau. In fact, I am keeping a tab on the site just in case I need it someday. You will never know when I need to order a set of chic uniforms for just about anything. Like recently our group decided to have a set of polo shirts with logo made for us to use during occasions where we need to show our group unity. If I knew about Landau then I would have recommended it.
