A Heartwarming Moment

There was a time when my husband got really mad at our daughter for something that she did. My daughter felt guilty about it and asked me if we can buy her dad a gift after school. Since I plan to buy more stuff for the baby I told her we can.  So off we went to the mall after school to buy the baby stuff first and then she asked me if she could buy clay because she wanted to make flowers. But after shopping for the baby I told her I was getting pretty tired and we can only make one more stop. She had to choose between buying a gift for her dad or going to the toy store to buy something for herself.  Do you know what she chose? She chose to buy a gift for her dad instead. It was heartwarming.  She even chose and bought the wrapper and gift wrapped it. She did not ask help from me.  She hid it from her dad so when he got home, she yelled "SURPRISE!", gave her gift and hugged her dad.   The gift had notes on it and everything.

Situations like these make you feel like the richest person in the world. Although, at that time, I was about to tell my hubby how it was a wise investment to buy gold bullion. But I did not want to ruin it for my daughter so I let the moment linger and when we were back to our normal state, that's when I told him about this golden opportunity and he agreed especially since he thinks how every opportunity should be taken advantage of.  He was really in a good mood when I told him about it. Children can do that to you. I think I could have asked for anything and he would have given it.
