I was not able to sleep well last night. I was awake until 3:00 am because of the typhoon. It was raining hard last night. I do not want to wake up to a flooded room. I was only able to sleep when the rain let up a little. I woke up again at 4:30 am because of the wind. It was howling. It was scary! But the great thing about it was there was no more rain. A few minutes after the that, electricity went out so I could no longer sleep. But it was so windy that it was cold. I was only able to sleep soundly at 6 am. Woke up again at 9 am. Electricity came back at around 10 am, internet a few minutes after and cable at lunch time.
They say that the worst is over. Thank God!

Make Money With Your Videos
For the past hour, I have been searching for this video captured by a bystander shown at 24 horas regarding a famous actor's ghost walking beside his crypt. Were you able to see it? People say that's its genuine.
That's what I love about the age that we live in. Everybody is so technologically advanced. People can capture pictures and videos about anything and share them by uploading it on the world wide web. They can make money out of it or they can be famous for it by joining a video contest. Some have even gotten both fame and money.
Maybe the person who took it might be interested to submit it to a "You Gotta See This" iLASIK Video Contest by Abbott Medical Optics, Inc. The videos should basically be about having better vision and how it can change their lives for the better. Say for example, the video where the ghost was captured. If his vision was not good, he will not be able to capture it. Or let us just say that even if he captured it by accident, he will not be able to see the ghost and share it to the rest of us. If he wins the grand prize, he will get $5,000. If he gets 1st place, he will get an HDTV package worth $2,500 and if gets the 2nd place, he will win the flip UltraHD camcorder worth $199.99. There will be several winners for the 1st and 2nd place because they will get them from different categories. There are already a couple of people who already submitted their videos. Some are original music videos, others are about videos on boxing and swimming because it can basically be about anything that show how your lives improved (or will improve) with better vision.
So if you got a video or you already have an idea on what your video is going to be, make that video and submit it to www.GottaSeeThisNow.com. Your friends can make sure that you win by voting for your video at the same site.

Friday Fill-Ins
1. It was a dark and stormy night, but it did not stop the children from having their Halloween party.
2. He was not feeling well so I offered to take the books myself.
3. Rushing out, I made it just in time.
4. I was minding my own business when...I think I heard a howl!
5. Shhhh... I'm busy.
6. Please give me something good to eat!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to resting (after two Halloween costume parties, I think I deserve it), tomorrow my plans include staying indoors and Sunday, I want to finish Gossip Girl Season 2!

Craving For A Chocolate Sundae
I cannot get this picture out of my mind. I am craving for ice cream. I want a sundae, a chocolate one with cream and cherry on top. I want something like this.

I ate this two weeks ago when cheska and I went to the mall. My daughter craved for ice cream so we went to Icebergs. I had the waiter changed all the flavours to chocolate. I am such a sucker for chocolate and hubby knows that. My daughter is the same way. She gets it from me. She does not eat ice cream that is not chocolate. My daughter also ordered the same thing. Although she gave her cherry to me.

You Can Still Make Up For It
It was our 6th wedding anniversary last Saturday. We were not able to celebrate it as originally planned because something came up at the office and my husband had to work that day. Anyways, he made up for it with flowers before he left for work and dinner, etc that night. But if he really wants to make up for it, he should check out the Accor Hotels 3-Day Super Sale Asia Pacific which can be used from December 2009 to April 2010. Anniversaries do not have to be celebrated on the day itself. It can be postponed on a later date especially if something as special as this has been planned. It will more than make up for not being around most of the time. Plus, the room rates are as low as $30 per night. It really is a great deal. I know hubby will approve. I hope he makes the time though.
The great thing about it is you can prepare for it especially since there are a couple of months in between the reservation and the travel date itself. So you have a couple of months to prepare for your trip. I am sure his office will make provisions for his 3-day absence. I hope that my sister will be able to learn of this super sale in time because they might want to take advantage of the low rates for their honeymoon too.
If you want to know, there are over 1,000,000 hotel rooms to choose from. You can choose from the following hotels: Sofitel, Pullman, Grande Mecure, Novotel, All Seasons and so many others. So plan that trip and go on a vacation in any of your chosen country: Thailand, Korea, China, Japan, Hong Kong, Australia, Singapore, Vietnam, Japan, Malaysia, New Zealand and so many others. The choices are endless and the rates are low which is why it is called a super sale.

The scariest encounter happened around 3 years ago, I saw a floating face that looked so evil that it looked like the devil and it was laughing at me (mocking me). The face was only a couple of inches away. I was so scared that I started to run but I wanted to see if it was following me so when I turned my head to look at it again, it was no longer there.
I was able to ask an expert on what I saw and she said it was an elemental and it resides on trees. She also wondered what it was doing inside the house.

17. Are you superstitious? Yes.
18. Share an unusual Halloween story. I do not have any.

20. What's the best Halloween party that you've attended? The best? It gets better every time. Hehehe.
2. What is your favorite work of science fiction/fantasy? Probably Star Wars

Saturday 9: Hey Jealousy!
1. Tell us a story when you got jealous.
Just the other night, I was so pissed off at hubby for coming in at 12:30 in the morning because of work. You could say that I am jealous of the fact that hubby spends more time at work and he no longer has time for us.
2. What is your least favorite thing about yourself?
I have a temper and I am so impatient
3. Who do you mess with the most?
myself i guess.
4. Do you have any special talents? What are they?
I can play the piano.
5. If you could have a secret fling that no one would ever find out about, would you?
I don't think so. It will destroy my family.
6. What's the furthest you've been from home?
USA
7. How many Saturday 9 player's blogs do you typically visit?
Oh no! Sorry, but for a couple of weeks now I haven't had the time to visit.
8. Some great bloggers lose their "mojo" and quit blogging. Could you see that happening to you?
There were already a couple of times when I did not feel like blogging as you can see from the lack of updates but I always come back especially when I have something to say. I do not think I will be able to quit cold turkey just like that. Blogging has already become a part of me. So I know I will eventually come back.
9. What's the biggest mistake you've made so far this year?
Probably my spending habits, I should have saved more.

Mommies - I Have Good News!
Becoming a mommy is one of the hardest jobs I ever took on. You never get a rest day and it goes on even when I am sick or when I am busy. As much as I would like to complain about being a mommy, I also want to say that it is also the most rewarding role that I ever have. I can not imagine not being a mom especially in this stage of my life.
One of the things that I found out when I became a mom is I will no longer have time for myself. My daughter was and will always be my priority. So I had to let go some of the things that I used to love to do such as my habit of watching tv when I was still single. I used to love watching tv, tv series and movies. I can spend nights and days just staying at home because I had so many movies to watch. But since my daughter watches all the time I had to let go my favorite tv series such as Heroes, Grey's Anatomy, Brothers and Sisters and so many others.
Plus, there are so many things to do. I have errands and mommy duties that do not seem to end which is why I am so glad that I found Charter Digital. I can now watch my favorites movies, tv series anytime I want. So the little time that I have left for myself I can spend it watching movies and eating chips. It will be just like old times. My daughter can also watch her favorite shows such as Spongebob Squarepants whenever she wants to. She no longer has to wait for it's schedule at Nick. So I can schedule everything better if I have Charter. You see, I have a 3-hour window for myself every morning when my daughter goes to school and so now I can watch any of the shows that I want! I have already added Charter on my facebook account especially since I want to get updates and fun extras on Charter’s Facebook page. The best part about it all is the fact that it is FREE!

A Fantasy Themed Online Game
I haven't played my downloaded game for quite some time now. Actually, ever since the typhoon I haven't played any of it. It must be the trauma, I was and still am a little bit depressed of what happened. It could also be the fact that we are trying to put everything together, picking up the pieces. However, I think it is about to change with the free online RPG. My brother was playing it and I am curious with it. Algadon is a fantasy themed role playing game that is in medieval times. So there are quests, battles with monsters, beasts and other players. There are also bounties which made it more interesting and others. It is quite exciting. It is not a surprise why my brother is addicted to it. I am sure I will love it too. The problem with me is I don't stop until I finish with it. So I can now predict that I will be addicted to it too.
So I guess I should brace myself with for a fun and mystical adventure at Algadon. It is a sure fire way to distract myself from thinking about what happened, what we lost and what we could have lost if we were not here.

Bad Luck Comes In Threes
I had a really bad day or should I say morning. First, I was cut off and was shouted at by a motorcycle driver. What the hell was his problem? He was the one who cut me off! Since I could not shout at him or curse him (my daughter was in the car with me), I honked my horn at him to show him that I was pissed off too. Second, the email that I was supposed to send to my brother I accidentally sent to my contact in Singapore. The horror! Good thing he thought that it was a virus. It was in Tagalog you see. I could not disclose what was in the email. My sisters and my brother will understand why I was so affected. Third, I expressed my frustration over at twitter and failed to realize that he was one of my ka-twits too.
Hopefully, that will be the end of it.
Hopefully, that will be the end of it.
What You Can Expect This Christmas
Christmas is just around the corner. But I feel that this Christmas will be a little sadder because of what happened recently with the effects of the typhoon and all. I am sure everybody's belt will be a little tighter. I know ours will be. I already told my husband's nephew and nieces that there will be no gifts this year. They protested rather strongly. Of course, I was only joking. But I assure you that we will not be spending that much this year.
Even if we will scrimp a little, it is important to show everybody whom we love that we care. We should be able to show them that we remember them this Christmas. After all, this season is one of the seasons where one should feel that he or she is remembered and the most perfect way to do that without spending much is through christmas cards. I know you will all agree with me. It is the perfect way to show someone that he or she matters to us without spending a fortune.
I already know a couple of my friends whom I will give them to this Christmas. I even plan to embed our family photo this year. This is to show friends and family how we have grown over the years.

A Little Secret On Downloading Files
I know some of you are curious where I get my games and the tv series that I have saved on my laptop. I will tell you a little secret because I do not pay for them. I do a torrents search and when I find what I am looking for, that's where I download it from. It is so easy because all I do is click the download button and that's it. All I have to do is wait for it to finish.
Of course, I also check the comments to see if there are complaints regarding viruses, etc. But if it's clean, I do not hesitate. The last time I was hit bad by a virus I was not downloading from torrents but some other source. I made a mistake and I make sure that I learn from my mistakes.

Saturday 9: Inside Job
1. When you were young, what did you want to be when you grew up? I wanted to become just like my mom, a housewife or a stay-at-home mom :)
2. Did you ever pursue that career? Yes, I am living it right now.
3. If you are not in that field, what changed? Maybe if I am not a stay-at-home mom, I would have been probably too afraid to resign from my previous work.
4. What is your current job? I am a stay-at-home mom.
5. What's the best part of what you do? I get to stay with my daughter all the time. We get to do what we want to do whenever we want to do it.
6. Do you have plans to do something else down the road? Yes a couple of years from now. I have plans especially when my daughter goes to school full-time.
7. How did you get your present job? If you are a stay at home mom, how long did you need to plan that move? It took me 3 years.
8. Did your parents influence your choices of jobs over the years? Yes, like I said I wanted to be just like my mom.
9. What advice would you give your children on careers? She should follow her heart and do whatever it is that she would like to do. If she loves what she is doing, success will follow. :)
2. Did you ever pursue that career? Yes, I am living it right now.

Read and Learn
I had a chance to chat with an old officemate of mine. He seems to be interested in blogging and having his own site on the world wide web. I have given him advices on how to get started and what are the best web hosting providers that he can consider when he finally gets his own domain. I have a learned a lot from reading at Web Hosting Geeks. He should read it too. It will help him a lot with his own site especially if he is decided on getting one or two. :) The truth is, as much as there are so many pros about having your own domain, there are also cons such as major threats to a website. BUT the advantages somehow makes it all okay.
Who would have thought that a psychology graduate will be able to know so much about it? I am actually a living testimonial on how you can do anything especially if you set your mind at it. I have been a stay-at-home mom for a little over 2 years already and I am earning my own keep. Do not get me wrong, I am not a techie but I know my way around a website and that's all because of the geeks behind web hosting. Thanks guys (and gals)!

Friday Fill-Ins
And...here we go!
1. So are we going to go to Makati for a friends' night out or what??
2. Christmas is what's up ahead.
3. I love to play those piso games at Tom's World. You drop them in the slot and hope that coins drop out so you can get tickets. As of today, I have accumulated 2,300++ tickets. There were supposed to be 4,000 tickets but my daughter wanted me to get the hello kitty organizer in exchange for more than a thousand points.
4. Confused of some sort.
5. I walk a little everyday.
6. Faith is the true elixir of life!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to going out and meeting my hubby and his friends somewhere in Makati, tomorrow my plans include just lie in bed and do nothing all day and Sunday, I want to just stay home!

Invest In Gold Now
It is time to be wise when it comes to money. That is the most glaring lesson I learned with the typhoon that swept away and destroyed most of our things. Imagine working for the things that you have at home and it was destroyed just like that. It happened right before our very eyes. The sad thing about it was we were powerless to stop it. We were all powerless.
So I already made a resolution not to buy so much stuff. I will only buy things that we need. I will no longer buy things that we want. SO even if my daughter will be asking me to buy her toys, etc. I do not think I will buy her anymore. No more expensive electronic gadgets or any other expensive toys and dolls for her. It is much better to invest it in something more useful. So she will benefit from it in the future. What better way to invest your money than gold or other precious metals right?
That is why I am reading all that I can about gold investment and investing in precious metals. I no longer want to invest in something futile, one that does not even have any ROI. At least with gold, you are assured that the commodity market will always have a need for it. Past behavior will always speak of its future and gold is already progressing with it's 4.14% demand the previous week. This can speak well for the remainder of the year. So no worries.
Do you know that the Chinese have been quietly accumulating all these precious metals which include gold and silver? They know how it will directly impact the country. We do not want to be caught by surprise when it happens. But it will! The Chinese has always been wise when it comes to money. I just do not know when because they say they are doing it gradually. I hope our country will do the same. I hope our leaders are wise enough to do this also. Although, I am quite hesitant if they do because these precious metals will just go straight to their pockets. Their pockets are bottomless you see. Hay! We definitely need new leaders.

Brothers And Sisters
Well, I have been quiet for the past few weeks. Aside from the typhoon, the electricity interruptions and my daughter's accident with the compass which almost gave me a heart attack, I have been watching Brothers and Sisters. I am now almost through with Season 3. Almost but not quite so no spoilers please.
I watched Season 1 two years ago but I have forgotten about it. It was brought to my attention again when my siblings designated me as Kitty and I forgot who she was. Well, now that I am watching it again I guess I am somewhat of a Kitty. Although, not totally.
It really is funny because Brothers and Sisters have depicted what we are to each other and it also shows how we deal with our family problems. We would always call for a family or a siblings meeting. We do not have any secrets in the family. We think we do but we don't because we talk about it all the time (even behind each other's backs just like them). We also have our share of fights, etc.
Kaaliw! It is like watching our family but a totally Caucasian one.
It's different when you have siblings who will be with you through good times and bad. This is the reason why we are pushing for a sibling for our daughter so she can have somebody to be with, share stories with, etc. I cannot even imagine growing up without them. :)

Naps and Balloons
I just spent an hour and a half lying down. My daughter did not want to take a nap. In the end, she won because it is already too late to take a nap anyways. Not unless, we want her to sleep at 1 am which isn't happening because she has school tomorrow. To be honest, I hope school gets cancelled another week or two. I was just getting used to her being around me all the time that I think I am going to miss her. Although, she is the exact opposite. She can't wait to go to school so she could have friends. I guess she misses her friends. She does not have any playmates here at home for the past few days. That's the reason why I bought her a balloon. She is having fun playing with it and tying it and running around it. Never underestimate the power of balloons. Hehehe.
A Beach Wedding
A friend of mine is getting married at the end of the year. They chose to have a simple celebration and only family and some of their close friends are invited. I love simple weddings and destination weddings. I am sure if they can afford to have a wedding at Riviera Maya, they would. Who wouldn't? It already has the ambience without even trying. The honeymoon can take place right there and then. They do not have to go anywhere else. The place is perfect for honeymooners.
Theirs is going to be a beach wedding too. If we could do it all over again, I know my husband will prefer to have a beach wedding. I would too. Nothing is more romantic than having a wedding by the beach.

Cheska And A Patrick Balloon
I just bought my daughter a balloon after church and she is so happy with it. It is in the form of Patrick Star and it flies and everything. I did not know that balloons are so expensive these days. It is the first time I bought one straight out of a vendor. It costs fifty pesos.
Check out my happy daughter and her Patrick Star.

Big School For My Daughter, Back To School For Me
Since my daughter will be transferring to a big school next year, it got me thinking about my path. What am I suppose to do now? To be honest, I have given us until December to conceive but if it does not happen well I should be thinking about what I should do. I cannot just wait around for my daughter and my husband to arrive from school and work respectively. Since I can now cross out big school from my list to do when it comes to my daughter. I can now concentrate on myself.
One of the options I have for myself is going back to school. I can finally take my masterals. For what, I haven't decided yet. I can either take my masterals on child psychology or business administration. I have to do a bit of soul searching and a bit of school searching too. I can only consider a school mba that will be able to give me a schedule that I can work around my daughter's schedule. That is why I love online education. It gives us mommies a chance to study again. Check out Cappella University with me.

Weekend Snapshot: Mall
This was taken yesterday. For the whole week, almost everyday we were at the mall. My daughter and I were trying to avoid the brownouts at home so we go out before the lights went out. It was unavoidable since the mall was running on generator. So it got very hot but at least there were lights. Anyways, I hope Meralco will be able to fix the transformer or whatever it is they are trying to fix or replace as soon as possible.
She looks so grown-up na noh? She is only 5 but she looks so much older than 5. One mommy asked me if she is already 7. She is really tall (big) for her age.

Buying A Pair (Or Three)
One thing I have noticed in me is I no longer have migraines unlike before. It was because I wear my reading glasses every time I use my laptop. I wear them especially at night. However, I lost it again during the typhoon. That is why I am checking out Zenni Optical. They always have cheap reading glasses. To tell you honestly, Zenni Optical is My favorite high fashion eyeglasses. They also have $ 8 Rx eyeglasses. It is very cheap considering that you will also look good. It is time we should learn how to spend. You can learn it with me by watching a CBN segment online called How You Can Start Spending Smart. I will start right now by not spending too much at reading glasses.
What do pair do you think will look good on me? They are so cute! I know I should only buy one pair but they cost so cheap I can afford to buy at least 3. At least, I will always have a spare pair right?

Options Are What We Need
Options. That's what we need right now. We should have options when it comes to how we live our life. But in order to do that, you need the money for flexibility. That's what education can give you. So if you want to become a great salon hair stylist, you should consider enrolling in beauty school houston. It is the fastest growing beauty school in the USA. Salons actually pursue Regency graduates. That is how great it is.
Do you know that make-up artists and hair stylists make a lot of money? You have to be good at it though. Consider this, one bridal package costs more than Php20,000 in this country. That is just one set. Some make-up artists book even two brides per day. So yes, they make more than enough. Plus, instead of paying somebody else to do your own make-up, you can do it yourself and you will look great too because you know what would look good on you and what wouldn't. So you will make a lot of money and you will save some too. You do not even have to quit your day job if you do not want to. Talk about being in a win-win situation.

Saturday 9: Lie To Me
1. Can you tell when someone is lying to you? It depends. If I am close to that person, yes I can tell. But if I barely know him or her, I can't tell.
2. Tell us about one of your flaws. Do you live with it or try to correct it? I have a terrible temper. I live with it even if I want to correct it.
3. When was the last time you laughed hard and what struck you as funny? It was one of my daughter's antics. She looked so funny.
4. Tell us about a time when you should have tried harder. I should have tried to rescue more stuff in the home during the typhoon Ondoy.
5. If you won the lottery, what would you buy first? A condominium unit (probably on the 20th floor or something like that) so I would not have to worry about floods reaching us or something like that.
6. What movie do you know every word to? Clueless!
7. What was the best thing that happened to you this week? The best thing that happened this week was the time when the doctor said that my daughter did not need any stitches. It was not deep enough. Thank God!
8. What was the worst thing that happened to you this week? When I saw my daughter's 6-inch wound.
9. What do you think is the biggest difference between men and women? Their genitals. Hehehe.

The Cook In Me
If there is one thing I do not know how to do it is to cook. When I was growing up, whenever we did not have a maid, I was the designated cook so I knew how to cook. It ended when I was in high school since I was in a dorm during most of my college years and after that I was just too busy with my career to cook food at home. Besides, we can always rely on take out right or fast food delivery. But since I am a mom now, I know I should be able to cook even simple dishes. I try sometimes but I always have to ask for instructions. I always have to rely on recipes and measuring spoons and cakes. Back then I did not have to use any of that. I relied on instinct. Anyways, I am so glad that I found this site called FoodConnect. It has really helped me a lot when it comes to recipes. What I love about it the most is it helps me change the serving size of the dish. Since I am quite new at this, it would help avoid waste if I make dishes that can only serve 2 at the most 4. Just imagine if I make a dish good for 8 people and nobody liked the dish that I prepared! Que Horror! Although it hasn't failed me yet. Another thing I like about it is the search feature. So I can always search for the menu of what I want to cook at the moment. Not that I am going to make a career out of it. But I am not closing my doors. Who knows? Maybe after a year or two, I might open up my restaurant. Haha! Wishful thinking!

School Updates
I need to start answering the essay questions on my daughter's application in one of the schools that we are considering for her next school year. Just like always I am procrastinating. I need to finish it before Wednesday.
Speaking of which, I haven't heard from my daughter's preschool. Are they going to resume classes on Monday? We went there a couple of days ago and the school wasn't spared from the wrath of typhoon ondoy. I do not know how they are going to fix it all up. I haven't heard from Teacher Gigi ever since the typhoon and I am already wondering how she is. She would always text me whenever classes are postponed and things like that. She has been quiet ever since the typhoon hit us hard. In fact, she has been too quiet.
My sister who has kids that are currently studying at ISYC and Miriam told me that ISYC will resume classes on Wednesday and not Monday since they are still fixing it. At least they already know when they will bring their kids to school. Miriam will resume classes on Monday but they are on a half-day sched. My sister told me that the teachers are going to do an inventory on all their students. There are still a number of students they haven't contacted yet. Scary.

Friday Fill-In
1. I have a history of temper tantrums.
2. Car maintenance is something I wish I knew.
3. I'm eating (or recently ate) a cheese sandwich.
4. My husband is on the road.
5. So that's it, that's enough typhoons for now.
6. Having a little is always better than nothing!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to just being with my family, tomorrow my plans include cleaning and fixing the things that are left but can still be used and Sunday, I want to go to the mall for my RnR!

Rain, Rain Go Away
I guess those whose houses were completely destroyed by the typhoon no longer have anything that they have treasured before. We were lucky. We still were able to save a couple of things but we lost a lot. Aside from the appliances, furniture, vehicles, etc. we also lost a lot of memories such as my daughter's baby book, her baptismal album, her art works and others.
Books were no longer a priority at that time. We only saved what we could. I am sure a lot of people felt the same way as I did. Anyways, it is the time to start once again. We could build our book collection, photo album collection and any other collection we may have had in the past but lost because of the storm. We all know now how we can better take care of them and save them if they needed saving in the future. Thus, we can all start again. We can always look forward to browsing through rows and rows of books at a Book Shop and begin to rebuild our book collection. My daughter and I can spend hours and hours inside just looking at books. One of the first things that I saved was (aside from my daughter of course) the laptop. I have lots of stored items in there that I could not bear to part with it. I have my ebooks, my stored games, my articles, the pictures that I stored over the years! My gosh just thinking about all of them make me want to buy an external hard drive and store it inside a waterproof ziplock bag. Hehehe.
Do you know that we were grateful because even when there was a heavy downpour and the water level was rising we still had electricity? The entire time we had electricity. It fluctuated once or twice but we were never in total darkness. Thus, we still had food because we were using the microwave for cooking and the rice cooker. Good thing we were able to save the the big fat duck cookbook and the other microwave oven that were given to us during our wedding. The other microwave oven was already wet because the water was able to reach it already before we were able to save it. Thus, we were able to use the other one to make meals with a few alterations as we were limited when it came to ingredients.

Hoping For A Sunny Weekend
Let us all pray that the typhoon will not hit us as badly as what we had experienced with the previous one. I have always believed ever since that Pag-asa is sort of like a jinx. Thus, if the people at pag-asa claims that it will be rainy the next day, the sun is almost always out. That is why I kinda feel that the typhoon peping will not be as devastating as the last one just because pag-asa already said that it is going to be one heck of a super typhoon. Here's hoping that I am right.
