Saturday 9: Leaving On A Jet Plane

1. When was the last time you jetted away for the holidays? I haven't had any experience when I left my family during the holidays. Holidays, especially Christmas, should be spent with the people whom you love the most.

2. What is your fondest birthday memory? Well, I have three. For my own, it was my 7th birthday. My mom gave me this pink and pretty barbie doll. I cannot recall how she knew that was the barbie doll I wanted and wished for on my birthday. The way she gave it to me made me feel special too. Of course, we celebrated it with the whole family and  had cake and fried chicken and spaghetti.    For my daughter, it was her 1st birthday because of the fact that I already have a daughter to celebrate birthdays with and the smile that she had on her face at that time was unforgettable. Lastly, my mom's 60th birthday.  We gave her a surprise birthday party and there were video messages from my nephews, Aaron and Andrew, who lives so far away. Anyways, we had this rose and gift giving thing for my mom where we also said our messages for her.  It was so heartwarming and touching!

3. What names do you go by? cheryll, babie, bie, ate bie, beh, che, mommy, mi

4. What do you look forward to most in the next six weeks? Well, there are still birthdays that are coming up, my brother's most especially on the 8th of December and my youngest nephew Cai who will be turning 2.  Of course, Christmas celebrations, Christmas eve and New Year's too.

5. Where is your least favorite place to be, and why?  Actually, to be honest, I do not like going to the salon. It takes so long to get your hair done or a pedicure, etc. I am always restless when I am inside one. I usually can't wait for whatever it is that I am getting done to finish so I can get out of there.

6. Have you ever had a scary stalker? yes.. although not really scary because they are always at a distance or they keep themselves at a distance parang the feeling that I get is, they are hovering over me.   The most that they have done is keep tabs on where I am and what I do, what time I go home, etc.  There was this time when one of them called me up to tell me what my schedule was, what time I usually leave or arrive  (things like that), where have I gone. It is sort of baffling and somewhat irritating how they know things about me.

7. What is your favorite holiday tradition? Eating noche buena with family, gift  giving during Christmas Eve and opening all the gifts received together with family.

8. What are two activities you do after eating Thanksgiving Dinner? we don't celebrate thanksgiving.

9. What did your family do for Thanksgiving when you were a kid? Do you still do it? If not explain why. See answer number 8. The explanation is simple.  Thanksgiving is a US tradition, I am a Filipino. Although, this is also not to say that I do not give thanks for the blessings and challenges that I receive every year. I just do not do it with turkey and pumpkin pie, etc.
