Rain, Rain Go Away

I guess those whose houses were completely destroyed by the typhoon no longer have anything that they have treasured before. We were lucky. We still were able to save a couple of things but we lost a lot. Aside from the appliances, furniture, vehicles, etc. we also lost a lot of memories such as my daughter's baby book, her baptismal album, her art works and others.

Books were no longer a priority at that time. We only saved what we could. I am sure a lot of people felt the same way as I did. Anyways, it is the time to start once again. We could build our book collection, photo album collection and any other collection we may have had in the past but lost because of the storm. We all know now how we can better take care of them and save them if they needed saving in the future. Thus, we can all start again. We can always look forward to browsing through rows and rows of books at a Book Shop and begin to rebuild our book collection. My daughter and I can spend hours and hours inside just looking at books. One of the first things that I saved was (aside from my daughter of course) the laptop. I have lots of stored items in there that I could not bear to part with it. I have my ebooks, my stored games, my articles, the pictures that I stored over the years! My gosh just thinking about all of them make me want to buy an external hard drive and store it inside a waterproof ziplock bag. Hehehe.

Do you know that we were grateful because even when there was a heavy downpour and the water level was rising we still had electricity? The entire time we had electricity. It fluctuated once or twice but we were never in total darkness. Thus, we still had food because we were using the microwave for cooking and the rice cooker. Good thing we were able to save the the big fat duck cookbook and the other microwave oven that were given to us during our wedding. The other microwave oven was already wet because the water was able to reach it already before we were able to save it. Thus, we were able to use the other one to make meals with a few alterations as we were limited when it came to ingredients.
